British Buddy Summer English Courses in Oxford and Wokingham feature integration of British and international children with at least 30% of the camp made up by English buddies, matching the same age range as internationals, and creating a unique chance for international students to be surrounded by native English speakers, practising their communication skills and developing confidence with children their own age.
‘British Buddies’ are a key part of the summer programme and aid the English language development of international students. All British buddies are carefully selected for their interest in the programme and making new international friends. They will take part in structured English lessons, activities, and excursions together, offering perfect immersion environment for learning English, and allowing opportunities for international students to practise their new language with native speakers.
Buddies will join in the morning lessons which focus on communication and working as part of a team on a structured communication task fostering the natural development of English Language skills. By working with native speakers of their own age our international students practice using English in real-life situations which greatly improves their confidence. The Buddies stay on for the afternoon and evening activities and join for excursions, allowing for integration at all times on camp. Friendships are soon made that last long after the summer has ended.
