English and Chelsea Football Academy enables international students to be trained by professional Chelsea coaches while improving their English language skills.
English and Chelsea Football Academy is a unique English language and football training summer camps which combines soccer coaching with English tuition. The Chelsea FC coaches’ goal is to make the dream of young footballers a closer reality by enhancing students’ football skills, playing practice matches, personal discipline methods, teamwork and seminars in which Chelsea’s secrets for success are shared.
The English and Chelsea Football Academy is open to all abilities, and students are divided into teams by age. The programme includes a full football coaching programme taught by professional Chelsea coaches, covering techniques, tactics, physical, mental and social elements of the game. Highlights of the course are a visit to Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea football club, and a private half-day training session at Chelsea’s state of the art training ground.
Besides football coaching, students will also receive a tailor-made English tuition, 15 hours per week, taught by qualified EFL English teachers, focusing on football and real life situations of student’s coaching, allowing them to put everything they learn into practice during their football coaching. In addition, students will enjoy a full range of varied activities and social programme as well as two days weekend excursions, all also offer students a chance to socialise with students from across the globe.
English and Chelsea Football Academy consists of a full programme of English tuition, football coaching, activities, and excursions. It includes:
- 15 hours of English tuition per week
- 15 hours of specialist football coaching per week

Excursions are a vital part of the summer experience for international students to gain a cultural understanding of the UK alongside English language study. Students will have 2 fully day excursion each week to experience the rich cultural heritage of Britain. The choices include:

The timetable below shows a typical English and Chelsea Football Academy summer programme.
Students are accommodated in Caterham School’s recently refurbished boarding houses which have single, twin, triple and rooms for four (some rooms have en-suite bathrooms and others have shared facilities) – en-suite rooms may be requested at the time of booking; a supplement of £75 per person per week applies. Girls and boys are accommodated separately. A team of friendly staff will stay with the students to look after them in the evenings and is on duty throughout the night.
Well balanced, nutritious three cooked meals a day with a wide range of salads and hot dishes are provided in the school dining room. Vegetarian meals are always available and are clearly labelled. Drinks and snacks are provided during break times. Packed lunches are provided for excursions.
200 acre campus including sports fields, woodland and a high ropes course. These outstanding facilities enable the best teaching and learning to take place. Excellent sports facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool and impressive modern sports facilities. There are students’ lounges, common TV room, and kitchens facilities in the accommodation.
Laundry is done once a week. All bed linen is provided and is laundered once a week. Towels are not provided.
Caterham School is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 – 18 years. The campus is situated on 200 acres beautiful, wooded Harestone Valley, providing a safe and idyllic setting which is five minutes away from the M25 motorway, 30 minutes from Gatwick and one hour from Heathrow airport and Central London.
Caterham is a highly successful and ambitious school, which seeks to ensure that the talents and abilities of all students are nurtured and encouraged to flourish in a caring and supportive environment. The school enjoys excellent results of academic achievement and is consistently placed among the top independent co-educational schools in the country, and result in 85% school leavers each year winning a place at a top-tier university. In 2017’s GCSE results, an impressive 55% of all GCSE results were graded A*, with 45 candidates achieving 8 A* grades or better. The school campus has facilities for extracurricular activity including 18 different sports, 20 music groups and over 36 clubs and societies. A new science block was completed in 2006. It contains fifteen laboratories: five physics, five chemistry and five biology. In 2008 the North Wing was rebuilt to create a new Sixth Form Centre and to provide a new location for the on-site health centre. The school has a Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and also participates in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

Chelsea’s regular kit colours are royal blue shirts and shorts with white socks. All students attending Chelsea English and Football Academy will receive a set of Chelsea’s kit.
