IELTS Exam Preparation Summer Camp at Dulwich College is a specialist course designed to help those who want to study in the top UK boarding school and learn more about the IELTS examination, improve their exam skills, and to develop their academic English. Students will have an opportunity to sit an IELTS Exam at the end of their course.
IELTS Exam Preparation Summer Camp has two study options which students can choose: intensive preparation or blended with General English. Both courses are open to students with an upper intermediate (B2) level of English or above. Taught by experienced exam preparation teachers, the course helps students get familiar with the exam papers and topics, expand their Academic English vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and improve their IELTS exam techniques and practice the reading, writing, listening and speaking papers using past exam papers. £275 supplement is required for students who wish to take IELTS Exam at the end of the course.
Intensive IELTS Exam Preparation is suitable for those who wish to focus solely on preparing for an IELTS exam. The course includes 27 hours IELTS preparation tuition per week, which teaches IELTS exam techniques and strategies, preparing students for each element of the academic English exam. The course allows ample time for past paper practice and individual feedback.
The English plus IELTS Exam Preparation combines 15 hours per week of General English tuition in the morning, exploring new topics and vocabulary, with 12 hours per week of IELTS exam focused classes in the afternoon, where exam techniques and strategies are taught and past papers are used to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Outside lessons, students will enjoy a lively programme of sports and social activities as well as a two full day excursions, to practice their skills or use the opportunity to learn new ones with sports and activity leaders, who ensure that the highest levels of safety are maintained at all times. All students will have the opportunity to integrate and make friends with those on other courses during the excursions, boarding and evening social programme.
IELTS Exam Preparation Summer Camp course consists of a well-balanced programme of academic tuitions, activities, sports and excursions. The weekly programme includes:

- 2 full-day trips and excursions per week
- Maximum class size of 15 students (typically 12 students per class)
- Airport transfers (Heathrow & Gatwick airports between 10:00-16:00 GMT)

Excursions are a vital part of the summer experience for international students to gain a cultural understanding of the UK alongside English language study. Students will have 2 fully day excursion each week to experience the rich cultural heritage of Britain. The choices include:

- Big Ben and Houses of Parliament
- The National Gallery
- The Tower of London
- Covent Garden Market
- The Science Museum
- Shopping at Oxford Street

The sample timetable below is a typical week of English plus IELTS Exam Preparation at Dulwich College.
Students are accommodated in single, twin and triple rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Girls and boys are accommodated separately. A team of friendly staff will stay with the students to look after them in the evenings and is on duty throughout the night.
Well balanced, nutritious three cooked meals a day with a wide range of salads and hot dishes are provided in the school dining room. Vegetarian meals are always available and are clearly labelled. Drinks and snacks are provided during break times. Packed lunches are provided for excursions.
Excellent sports facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool and impressive sports facilities such as modern classrooms, large sports hall with eight badminton courts, a fitness suite, weight lifting platforms, 12 rugby pitches, ten football pitches, 8 cricket squares, three sets of cricket nets and 3 all-weather tennis courts. There are students’ lounges, common TV room, and kitchens facilities in the accommodation.
Laundry is done once a week. All bed linen is provided and is laundered once a week. Towels are not provided.
Dulwich College, founded in 1619 as the College of God’s Gift at Dulwich, is one of the oldest and largest independent schools in the UK. It is located in south London, endowed with an oasis of over 70 acres of beautiful green playing fields. The School also owns a boathouse on the River Thames.
