Intensive Academic Study Program at renowned Wycombe Abbey School aims to sharpen academic abilities of those students who are either about to join a UK boarding school, considering this for the future or are looking for academic booster course that offers tuition in English, Maths and the Sciences, whilst also developing life skills such as confidence, leadership and teamwork, along with a programme of social activities and excursions.
The course offers 27 hours of academic tuition per week taught by subject specialist. Each day is taken up with three 90 minute lessons of core subjects and a 90 minutes of STEM based project challenges. Students will develop and expand on existing knowledge of the core academic subjects Maths, Science and English as appropriate to their key stage. Lessons are functional, interactive and designed for collaborative study.
The STEM projects allow students to experiment and put into practice “what they can do, with what they know”. Using their knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths to solve problems, gather and evaluate evidence and make sense of the information. These daily projects help develop design, creative thinking and problem solving skills, whilst leading or working as part of a team.
Intensive Academic Study Program takes place at one of the UK’s most successful independent boarding school Wycombe Abbey, and is open to native English Speakers and those with an upper intermediate level of English or above. The course is complemented by a lively social programme of activities and weekend excursions, to ensure that pupils enjoy their time on the course and make new friends from around the world.

Intensive Academic Study Program consists of a well-balanced programme of academic tuitions, activities, sports and excursions. The weekly programme includes:
- 27 hours of academic tuition per week

- 2 full-day excursions per week to London and beyond
- Maximum class size of 15 students (typically 12 students per class)
- Airport transfers (Heathrow & Gatwick airports between 10:00-16:00 GMT)

Boarding:
Students stay in comfortable boarding houses of Wycombe Abbey, twin or quad en-suite accommodation. Girls and boys are accommodated separately. Common rooms and kitchens and provide the perfect environment for relaxation and socialising. A team of friendly staff will stay with the students to look after them in the evenings and is on duty throughout the night.Meals:
Well balanced, nutritious three cooked meals a day with a wide range of salads and hot dishes are provided in the school dining room. Vegetarian meals are always available and are clearly labelled. Drinks and snacks are provided during break times. Packed lunches are provided for excursions.Facilities:
Excellent sports facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool and impressive sports facilities. There are students’ lounges, common TV room, and kitchens facilities in the accommodation.Laundry:
Laundry is done once a week. All bed linen is provided and is laundered once a week.
