Social Programme
Below is a typical day of London Family Summer Camp and weekly leisure activities for children.
Established in 1974, David Game College (DGC) is a boarding and day independent school and Sixth Form College located right in the City of London. The college is coeducational for 13 – 22 year olds. Up to 400 students take full-time courses each year. The college was founded by its current principal David Game in 1974, which was originally started with five rooms in a basement, and has now become one of the largest Independent Colleges in the UK.
The College moved to its current location in 2017, the new setting is steeped in historical and modern landmarks. Historic buildings such as the Tower of London, Bank of England and St Paul’s Cathedral are interspersed with modern steel and glass skyscrapers – the Gherkin, the Walkie Talkie, the Cheesegrater – which mixes the ancient and the modern, and tells the story of the development of London over the past 2000 years.
The College building was previously occupied by London Guildhall and Metropolitan universities, and contains part of the original Roman Wall in the basement, which explains why the College magazine is called Londinium. The college has undergone a multi-million pound renovation in 2017, and students can enjoy the benefits of modern purpose-built facilities, including over 60 modern and state of the art classrooms, three science laboratories, two university-sized lecture theatres, new art rooms, photography studios, library, gym, and a spacious canteen.
David Game College is committed to providing high quality education, ensuring that all students experience rapid learning and achieve their ambition. The College selects and develops the very best teachers to deliver a progressive and modern curriculum that not only gives students the knowledge and techniques to excel in examinations, but also the critical thinking skills and broader education to navigate their place in the world. Their ethos and values are reflected in the curriculum. They want the students to be ambitious and optimistic about their futures and to be prepared to push themselves to achieve the extraordinary. For them there are no barriers to learning; students should be encouraged to break free from any limiting self-doubts, and not be constrained by the past.
The school offers a dynamic educational experience, giving students the opportunity to learn and develop new talents and skills. The college offers a broad curriculum at GCSE and A level, as well as a University Foundation Programme. Nearly 100% of our students go on to higher education with many gaining places at the universities listed in the Top 20 of The Times’ Good University Guide. In 2023, 100% of DGC students received offers from Russell Group Universities. David Game College is also rated “Outstanding” in all areas of inspection in both 2017 and 2020 by Ofsted, the Government body responsible for monitoring standards in education.
