  • King Edward’s school was established in 1553 by King Edward VI (only son of the late King Henry VIII), and is one of the famous English private schools in the south of England. The School is situated in a picturesque 120 acre campus in beautiful village of Witley, Surrey. It is within an hour of both Central London and the south coast of England. Famous past students include Ivor Caplin MP; Liz Gordon MP, Edd China, Guinness World Record holder; and Du’aine Ladejo, the Olympic gold medallist, etc.

The School offers a blend of forward-thinking and traditional values in a secure environment where young people can be nurtured – intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, culturally and socially – through the transition from childhood to adulthood.

King Edward’s School has superb on-site teaching and sports facilities including an indoor swimming pool, modern sports centre, squash courts, dance studio and extensive sports fields, including an astro-turf all weather playing field. The school also enjoys a tradition of excellence in Music, Drama and the Visual Arts, supported by a new state-of-the-art music technology centre.

Academically the school has excellent results and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma since 2004. Their terrific 100% pass rate and high average points score of 34 over the last 5 years, twice as many pupils achieved the top grades than was the case worldwide, rank King Edward’s School 8th in the UK, for I.B. schools. Pupils proceed to many of the top universities including Oxford University and University College, London in the UK and many overseas universities.

    Gentle notice:

The UK independent schools are highly respected in the world. A study shows 80% of those who hold key positions in British society received privileged private education, despite only about 7% of the UK children being educated at these private schools.

Besides the benefits of attending a classic summer school, international students who join the summer programme at King Edward’s School will also have the privilege to experience the unique academic setting and school life of a great British boarding school, and prepare for their future independent schooling at one of the top British independent schools.
